The McFreeds Vote

[this is good]

You know I was wondering about you guys on election night. And, I checked in on your blog to see if you had written anything about the election, and at that point you still hadn't.

Of course, I respect your decisions. Senator Clinton is an amazing candidate. And, to be honest, I've had a pit in my stomach these last few days knowing that Senator Obama was pulling ahead (but for me, this is based more on emotion than what is right for our country). I'm very torn, but still feel strongly about choosing him for the nominee for a variety of reasons. He actually does have much substance, but is still campaigning on his general ideas. Yesterday, he started getting more specific at one of his speeches.

In the end I think many of us are in agreement that we will support the Democratic nominee regardless of who that might be. But I agree with you that it is truly an exciting time and I'm honestly over-whelmed when I see how involved people are becoming in the process. This is what makes the U.S. so fantastic.

Time will tell who will be taking on John McCain. An important thing is that he is defeated, not only because of his stance on gay-rights issues but also for his positions on the Iraq War, the economy and not to mention his support of other President Bush policies. It's time for the pendulum to swing back in our direction (in both the Executive and Legislative branches, at least long enough to make some real progress).

I'm voting for Hillary too!
