Torchwood

Stefan isn't a huge fan of sci fi related things but I am! I have become addicted to the crazy British X-Files homage piece and Dr Who spin-off Torchwood. Just watched the most recent episode I had on the DVR and what a beautiful end to the show! A true romantic end of an episode involving Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) and Captain Jack Harkness (Matt Rippy) in a farewell kiss. You have to understand the total arc of Torchwood to get it, but basically Barrowman's character stole Rippy's character's identity after Rippy's Captain Jack died in a 1941 German attack on Cardiff, England. They meet in an episode that involves a rift in the space time continuim. I know its weird, but oh so good! Enjoy the touching kiss between these two below. Yes Mom, the John Barrowman CD you gave me years ago has now sunk in!

Did you cry because of this scene? Or did you watch the whole series? There are some issues with the plotting but overall I find it a nice escape and they utilize a bisexual (or is he omnisexual?) hero with more of a gay slant as the pivitol leader... and he is VERY popular in Britain.
Moreover, BBC America cuts the more risque bits from the show. The UK version showed male nudity that was cut here. (Rhys, Gwen's longsuffering boyfriend, shows his very nice backside. Alas, no nekkid Ianto or Jack. .. YET!))
why is Ianto considered not really part of the team? Because, to put it into DC federal contractor lingo, he's not a revenue-producing subject matter expert, he's support staff. When you're writing an RFP, you don't ask the receptionist to sit in on the project, do you? Same deal with Ianto. He provides manpower when needed, but mostly he's Torchwood 5's interface with the external world, plus he makes the tea.
