Share a song you listened to in 6th grade.
Sixth Grade was 1983 - 1984 for me (Sean). The original video for this was one of the best ever.
Audio: Share a song you could listen to all day on repeat.

Dreaming by the group Blondie. The song is both rallying cry for me about always pursuing your dream be it love or just life and nostalgia reminder. The drums are amazing! My sisters and I used to lock ourselves in their room and listen to Blondie's Best of album over and over. My memories about us dancing and singing like crazy "tweens" together is what I think propels this song forward in my memory all these years. This will be my entrance song at our wedding since it's pretty much my favorite song of all time. <smirk> Now if I remember it right, this was my song; Holly's was The Tide is High (although our "spotlight" dance at her wedding included One Way Or Another which Mikelle joined in on); and Mikelle's was Rapture because she liked the rap part (...and he shoots you dead and he eats your head). Enjoy!
When I met you in the restaurant
You could tell I was no debutante
You asked me what's my pleasure
A movie or a measure?
I'll have a cup of tea and tell you of my dreaming
Dreaming is free
I don't want to live on charity
Pleasure's real or is it fantasy?
Reel to reel is living rarity
People stop and stare at me We just walk on by - we just keep on dreaming
Feet feet, walking a two mile
Meet meet, meet me at the turnstile
I never met him, I'll never forget him
Dream dream, even for a little while
Dream dream, filling up an idle hour
Fade away, radiate
I sit by and watch the river flow
I sit by and watch the traffic go
Imagine something of your very own
Something you can have and hold
I'd build a road in gold just to have some dreaming
Dreaming is free
Dreaming
Dreaming is free
Dreaming
Dreaming is free

Well Stef and I are loving the Brenda Dickson, our resident self-involved has-been of the 1980s. Here is another one of her hits off her own website! Enjoy the crazy! Strangely enough looking back on her acting prowess it reminds me of the Joan Crawford School of Acting - Big shoulder pads, angry eyes, and a forceful personality. (Click on the video twice until it takes you to YouTube where it will play.)

Stefan and I were minding our own business Friday night and took in an episode of E!'s The Soup for some laughs. What transpired is comic discovery! Apparantly, former star of The Young and The Restless Brenda Dickson in the self-involvement decade of the 1980s (1987 in particular) wrote, directed, and produced a tape that was meant to inspire women and men to greater heights through better fashion and body management! Below is the result. It comes in two parts. You will NEVER say or hear the words "Well Hello!" ever again without thinking about Brenda... saying any more will not allow you to find your favorite line or part! Enjoy the campy madness!

Mere words do not do "The Brenda Experience" proper justice - she truly has to be seen to be believed! La Dickson is unmatched in her commitment to self-involvement & self-promotion, and her sincere insincerity will likely move you to tears (of laughter, that is). Unless, of course, you are moved to nausea and dry-heaves, which is not beyond the realm. Brenda's "Welcome to My Home" features her many lofty goals, not the least of which is her desire to bring back the Rhoda Morgenstern head scarf, circa 1974. But, I digress - please, experience Brenda for yourself...
