As many of you know, I am a BIG movie nerd. Recently, the American Film Institute (AFI) revised their top 100 list and so did I! (This post is a repeat of the email that previously went out June 20, 2007.) Since 2003, I have biannually prepared a list of the best films ever made in my humble opinion. Listed below is the 2007 version of this list. I have a more detailed breakdown that is still be prepared with various statistics and cross referencing that you can all see if you so dare to. So on with the list and enjoy!
This list has been shaken up considerably from the previous two! The criteria for this list is cultural impact, awards, critical reviews, ability to entertain over time, and my personal taste. This year I let my personal taste impact the list more than usual so it reflected me and not just critics. Please note that this list contains silent and foreign films as well as the usual American ones (AFI's does not).
