Sean & Stefan

McFreed... since August 2006!

A friend of Stefan's and Sean's asked them a curious question one day, "So now that you are all moved in together and living the life, what is your celebrity couple name?"  What an odd question for two boys, Stefan a librarian and Sean a software quality assurance lead, who had only (insert laugh track here) thought of themselves as celebrities in their own minds let alone in the real world! And hence the couple otherwise known as McFreed was born - an amalgamation of their last names.

So how about a primer about our blog hosts...

Sean, often mistaken for actor Thomas Gibson (Dharma & Greg) according to Stefan, appears to be a normal white boy who grew up in the suburbs of Washington, DC until his eyebrow raises up a notch and that mischievous grin captures your attention! Sean enjoys telling a good tale the old fashioned way - as amplified as a camp fire story with the embellishment of $1 words he learned in school. Did we mention that Sean was elected Most Opinionated in his high school yearbook and used to be a political "hack" (we use the term loosely here) as well?!   

One day Sean will write the novel his parents Larry and Jacque want him too, but for now he is content with contributing to this blog. More than anything though Sean loves to do two things more than any other - watch movies and travel to new places.  Stay tuned for Sean's take on movies of all kinds and his travelogues of Stefan's and his adventures! 

Stefan, a poor man's T.R. Knight (Grey's Anatomy) according to Sean, is the boyfriend you never let get away. Always one to help out a friend, show up with a gift unexpectedly, and communicate like no other, Stefan is truly unique in the world of men (well in Sean's demented mind anyway)!  A Baltimore area native since birth, Stefan prides himself on his knowledge of nostalgia and dreams of only about being allowed to live the mod lifestyle of the mid 1960s.  Put Stefan in a (the artist formerly known as) Shag's paintings and he would be in heaven.

How did they meet you ask?! Stefan solicited an ad Sean had placed on Match.com (of ALL places) and the rest is history! Somehow, Stefan convinced Sean to separate himself from the Old Dominion and move into Maryland with him in April 2007. Now they form the House of McFreed and are planning and plotting their future together.
